A Month Lost

Wow, where did November go!? I have been deeply absorbed in an unexpected project so that's why I've been MIA lately, plus I was sick for a week, and then there was Thanksgiving... And all of a sudden the whole month was gone! But I can kind of breathe again (when baby isn't jammed up against my diaphragm anyway) so I've got some catching up to do here!

It all started at the end of October when I was contacted by a gal on the content team at Skillshare, which is a "global learning community for creators." They're looking to expand their crafts catalog and somehow they came across little ol' me! I'd never heard of them before, so I was, at the beginning, pretty skeptical. But I did some research and asked around a bit and I decided to give it a try. Their new catalog is coming out later this month, though, so we were in a bit of a time crunch and I had a LOT of work to do. But I just wrapped up the last major phase and the rest is just editing and polishing! So stay tuned for more on that. I can't hardly wait to tell you more!

I only did my nails TWICE in that entire month and it wasn't anything too fancy either time. I'll share pictures here just for kicks, though:

A friend of mine has somehow talked me into doing another nail art challenge this month, though, so I'll be back on that bandwagon this week! It's another one by @clairestelle8 on Instagram, so you can check it out here if you like.

Thanksgiving was a quiet affair this year. My husband invited his XO and 1SG over so it was just the four of us, which was really for the best considering I was still recovering from the fun little cold I picked up the previous week. DH fried a turkey and I baked a pecan pie (sorry, no pictures!) and the rest was pretty easy. Still exhausting for a sick, 8 months pregnant lady, but I was glad we were able to have them over. His XO would have been eating alone on his couch otherwise, which wouldn't have bothered him, but it made his mother sad! She was very glad to hear that he was joining us. :)

Otherwise it was pretty much business as usual. I taught some crochet classes. Had a good checkup for my baby bear. DH did some training - NTC for ten days plus local field time most of the rest of the month. That's probably the only reason I was able to actually pull that Skillshare class together! Just organizing my craft room was quite the endeavor... O.o It will never be this neat and organized again (there are still a couple drawers I wouldn't suggest opening, ha ha), so I'd better share a picture!

I had to have a place to film the class, though, so I finally had the motivation I needed to get it done! Mostly, anyway. Now if I can just keep it reasonably organized...

I have a couple free patterns in the works, one that I'm hoping to finish up and release within the next week, so watch for that. It's just a baby hat pattern, but it's the first thing I crocheted for my own baby, so it's special to me, of course!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are further along with your holiday shopping than I am! We usually do at least a little Black Friday shopping, but apparently I gave my cooties to my husband because he woke up that morning feeling icky, so we stayed home. Not that I much minded - all that craziness is SO not my scene! I didn't even find anything online, though. We DO need to get a carseat soon, though. Just six more weeks or so until we finally get to meet our baby! I'm excited and terrified and exhausted already, ha ha. But it's NEXT MONTH, y'all! O.O I still can't hardly believe it sometimes. But my heart is so full. and I am simply... amazed. All the time. I love it. <3
