Crash Courses with Connie Lee: Single Crochet Video Tutorial

Y'all. I did it! FINALLY I published my first crochet tutorial! Hooray!!

I've been considering doing tutorials for some time now, but never quite got on board until after I successfully filmed and edited my own Skillshare class. Until then, I was talking myself out of it because there are already so many great tutorials out there. After some reflection, though, I realized that what I'd be sharing isn't just another crochet tutorial, it's a little piece of me. It's my own interpretation and presentation and there just might be people out there who enjoy watching little ole me teach crochet! I guess we'll find out, eh?

I decided to use a great big hook to help you see what's going on with a single strand bulky weight tshirt type "yarn" so that you don't have to try to tell the difference between the anatomy of your yarn (the plies) and the anatomy of your stitches! And just for fun, I thought I'd try taking you on a scenic tour of some of my favorite outdoorsy places along the way. Please let me know what you think!

Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel to get first notification of new videos!

And here are the step-by-step written directions!

How to Single Crochet (sc):

  • insert hook into designated stitch

  • yarn over (yo)

  • pull up a loop (you should have 2 loops on your hook)

  • yo

  • pull through both loops on hook

Single crochet complete!
