Y'all! HOW excited am I?? The pattern for this fabulous shawl is now available in PRINT! Like, not printed from my home computer, but on magazine stands! It's SO exciting to see my name in print! I have a feeling it will never get old, actually!
The Winter 2017 edition of Love of Crochet magazine has over 20 sensational patterns for the winter season including tops, scarves, shawls, home décor, and more. You can check out the patterns on Ravelry here, purchase the digital edition directly from Interweave here, or stop by your favorite LYS to see if they carry the magazine to get your print copy! I just couldn't contain my excitement when I finally got to hold it in my hands at my LYS Yarn Matters, in case you couldn't tell from the picture, ha ha. Doesn't it just look so festive!?
The Parallel Celebrations Shawl is designed using the Fibonacci Sequence to determine striping, which results in a very visually appealing gradation between the two colors. Worked side to side, the triangle is built using both chains and extended stitches and working into the front loop only results in a fabric with subtle vertical striping to compliment the stripes of color. Bonus? Fringe for days, y'all. Fringe. For. DAYS!
I was also asked to write an article for the magazine about the history and practical application of the Fibonacci Sequence, so you'll definitely want to check that out, too, because there are SO many different ways you can use math to make stripes in your knitting and crocheting. It makes math fun! Seriously!
