Tristan and Isolde: A Yarn Club Unboxing, Part 4

June 14, 2017

Wow. I am LATE with this one! Sick kid and busy husband and tired mommy just don't equal enough energy for filming, though, unfortunately. So with only the tiniest of peeks, because come on, who's THAT disciplined!? I waited until I was able to film this past weekend finally to play with the yarn. And y'all it's SO pretty! But I'll tell you more about that later!

The upside of the delay in filming was that I was able to wear (and show off, ha ha) the cowl that was my original plan for Morold, the sinister looking purple-y yarn from shipment number two - and the finished piece is appropriately sinister to match with SKULLS hiding in the the filet crochet style fabric of the cowl. Finished off with a zipper and a cute little, ah, I mean sinister skull charm, this is one of my favorite FOs to date! I'm still working on the pattern and I still need to get some good pictures of it being worn, but in the meantime, you can get a sneak peek in the video below!

And if you missed Part 3, here's the link so you're not behind in the story - because it's about to get even juicier!

SPOILER ALERT! Picture of YARN below!

I absolutely adore this not really red shade and I cannot WAIT to try it out. I haven't worked with Alpaca much before, so it'll be interesting to see how the fiber behaves. The base is called Brangane (Isolde's handmaiden) and this colorway is called Love Potion. Isn't is just ... juicy!? It's 80% Alpaca and 20% silk. Yummy!

There isn't a yarn I've tried yet from Round Table Yarns that hasn't been a pleasure to work with and I'm sure this one will be no exception. It is a NEW yarn base for Karen and it's kind of exciting to be one of the first people to test it out during its trial period. I am so glad I signed up for this little adventure with her Tristan and Isolde Yarn Club! It's hard to believe we're already on the downhill side of it... but I can't wait to see what she sends us next time and to hear the next part of the story!

P.S. That adorable little stitch marker is lampwork glass from Ann Tudor LLC - check out her website at www.anntudor.com if you want to see more!
